The Daily Mobster is your source for morning mugshots, opinion, news, advice, horoscopes, and daily happenings. Our expert team of journalists work around the clock to bring the most up-to-date and quality articles and art available whether than means bribing folks, extortion, strong-arming, or stealing. We aren’t above any of that. The Daily Mobster attempts to expose the lunacy of everyday life through humor and illustration and satire the absurdity of the very existence of man’s greatest institutions and firmly held beliefs. If you like what you read, please submit ideas, ask Alphonse, come back often and if you can donate please do, because maintaining a newspaper, even a fake one, is time consuming and costly. At the very least, sharing with your friends and on social media is the best way to keep us going.

The Daily Mobster Team

Jack is our editor in chief and head creative. The world that is The Daily Mobster is brought to you straight out of his mind. He is obsessed with mobsters, stories of organized crime and mobsters, mobster movies and all the Warner Brothers cartoons that feature Mugsy and Rocky. He draws inspiration from Edward Gorey, Dr. Seuss, Chester Gould, Bill Watterson, Maurice Sendak, Roald Dahl, Norman Rockwell among others. Jack is an established animator in the visual effects industry and freelance illustrator. He has worked on many feature films such as X-Men: Days of Future Past, Ender’s Game, Tron: Legacy, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. His clients and specialties in illustration have ranged from album cover art, band gig posters, t-shirts, and custom commission art. Jack is currently working on two illustrated books that are set to go to print within the year:

“The Island and the Plough” is a thoughtful fable about a farming family who live on a lone black island. After the harvest does not yield enough to last the winter, Papa is forced to leave the island to look for more land or people but in an unusual way. He discovers that the world he thought he knew is not what it seems.

“Captain and Crow’s ABCs” is a fun and hilarious children’s book focused on the ABCs but features a pirate who is obsessed with the letter R. He is tasked, by a witty crow, to name a word for every letter in the alphabet that contains the ARR sound. The reading is laugh out loud fun and the visuals are as bold as the characters’ personalities.
